Lightbox now working!

Apr.02, 2009

I decided to go ahead and fix the lightbox on Jakob’s site.

To showcase it, I’m going to show everyone the most epic picture of Jakob to date (in my opinion, anyways)

For some reason, slimbox wasn’t cooperating so I decided to integrate Thickbox since I’ve been enjoying it with some success for a while.

And yes, It does the cool iframe inside of it as well. Click the link above to see!

Death and perhaps Rebirth?

Feb.21, 2009

I know most of you guys might not be familiar with Motorsports or the such, but i greatly enjoy it, and sometimes take it way too seriously. So bear with me here :P .

The story is this. There once was this racetrack, pretty much the only premiere racetrack in a country called Austria. The track was called the Östtereich Ring (Austria Ring).
It was the host of the Formula One Grand Prix in Austria from 1970 to 1987.

During those days, the track was one of, if not often THE fastest, track on the Gran Prix calendar. It was fast and flowing, which made for some great racing.

Here is a lap of the original Österreich Ring by E. Cheever and P. Tambay in the Renault RE40 which was in ‘82, i believe.

It was then shortened (By about 2 kms) as well as a few corner changes were made, which resulted in a much less flowey circuit, and it was renamed the A1-Ring. It was host for the 1997 through 2003 Austrian rounds for the F1 Grand Prix.

Here is a lap of Kimi Raikkonen in 2003.

Then in 2004, Dietrich Mateschitz went ahead and wanted to rebuild the track. This is what he envisioned.

The only problem was, that people living in the surrounding area (Which are not many…) decided to protest the rebuild. There was also insane amounts of environmental issues, apparently. Many sponsors jumped ship because of that. They simply thought that it’s too much hassle to continue with this.
Five years later, there seems to be a conclusion. People in the surroundings have been paid insane amounts of money (about 3 million overall) by the state, to either move out or stop moaning. Don’t get me started on the people the moved to Spielberg in 2004, knowing full well that there is a racetrack, and now get free cash.
The overall cost of the project will be around 70 million Euros, with the blunt being carried by Mateschitz and the state.

I went up there today, with my trusty Governor Leopold, to see what’s what. It’s still pretty cold and snowey, so there wasn’t much to see, but the progress seems slow. I just hope they can get it up and running soon.

Here is a view from where the new stands are supposed to be. End of the straight, looking towards where the pits are supposed to go.

Looking down the straight from the first corner. You can see the track being torn apart.

Out of turn one, up towards the Remus curve.

Apparently, there are no plans to host any new Formula 1 or MotoGP races, just DTM races. The track is supposed to be done in 2010.

What the hell am i going to do until then?!?!?!

Teh Merc

Feb.10, 2009

Yes, the time has come. After the M3 has exploded once again, it has been stored for a while. In it’s place has come something know as the Porn Mobile.

Indeed, it’s a 1991 Mercedes Benz 300e.

Now, before i’ll let you feast on it’s magnificence, i would like you to put this picture together in your head.

Whilst you are going somewhere, you all of a sudden hear something in the distance. Something… strange. Something… amazing. You walk closer because you are intrigued…

All of a sudden, the sound is crystal clear… it is…

Still, you are very intrigued to see where it is coming from, so you walk towards the sound. The soothing, calming, smooth sound.

Then you see it. It’s… amazing!

You can’t help it. You are drawn in! Like an invisible force! You get even closer. And then you spot HIM!

Stunned you stop. No idea what to feel, what to think, what to DO! You simply walk to the right side…

Unable to think, you open the door, and this is the last thing you clearly remember, for the most amazing night of lovemaking ever has followed, which resulted in permanent amnesia.

Yes, that good.

Doing the old(er) school

Jan.28, 2009

Yes, i know, it’s another trance post. I’m sorry, but it’s all i’ve been doing aside from work, really :P .
Don’t mind some of the videos. They are very… weird. Very much Cheesie 90s Trance/Techno style. Hilarious in a way, though.

Let’s get this started!

Freeloader by Driftwood

Dance by Apollo was one of the songs i remember listening to a lot back when i moved to the US.

In My Dreams by Noemi. Also a great older Vocal Trance song.

Komodo by Mauro Picotto was one of those songs that caught me the second i listened to it. Not sure why. But it took off quite good here in Europe at the time.

Let You Go by ATB is a song i associate with some rawr. Yes. Rawr. <.<

Keep in mind, these videos are in YouTube quality. Some of the sound depth and quality is lost (a lot in certain clips, actually), but it still is the best way to show you guys :P . If one of the songs interest you, let me know!

Time for Boom Boom!
